Swimming Hires Coach Mike & Conrad

Coach Mike is excited about the opportunity to coach swimming with his wife and long time teacher at Hillsdale, Ms. Conrad.  He began swimming at the age of 6 and he enjoyed summer recreational swimming for several years.  He swam and played water polo at Acalanes High school in Lafayette and was an All American in both sports including winning the North Coast Section meet in the 200 yard freestyle.  He has completed swims across the Golden Gate Bridge, across Lake Donner and Lake Tahoe (on a relay).  Coach Mike is looking forward to having a group of swimmers who value a team experience, having fun, working hard and helping swimmers achieve their goals.  Coach Mike had a great swim coach in high school who taught him much about swimming and life and he looks forward to giving back to Hillsdale swimmers.

Coach Conrad is also super excited about returning to the home of the Fighting Knights, this time as one of the Spring Swim Coaches. After teaching Special Ed and PE for 13 years at Hillsdale and retiring this past June, Ms. Conrad is anxious to be back on the pool deck with the kids, and very pumped about the opportunity to do so next to her new husband, Coach Mike. She coached HHS Volleyball, Badminton and JV Waterpolo while at Hillsdale, and at the same time participated in designing and implementing PE curriculum along side current PE faculty.

    Hello,
My freshman daughter Gillian wants to try out for the swim team. Unfortunately we didn’t have the health clearance form in time for the Monday tryouts and today she has a doctor appointment. Can she try out on Wednesday or Thursday? What time would that be? I know school gets out at 12:30pm on both of those days. Can she do it then? Please advise.
Thanks so much for your response as she was unable to find out the options.
    Best,
    Jennifer
