Girls Tennis: Tennis team playing better than ever!

Congratulations to yet another victory by the Girls Tennis Team. On October 16th, the Hillsdale Lady Knights defeated the Burlingame Panthers 4-3. To begin an exciting chain of events, sophomore and singles #4 player Camille Williamson pulled through first with both sets having a score of 6-2.
As a few other team members finish their matches, we were losing 1-3, but there was still hope! To save us from losing, Lana Feltsman and Danielle Lieu on Doubles #1 fought very hard and took home a win after a tough second set. Their hard-fought score resulted in 6-3, 7-6(7-2). A little later, Iliessa Kimura and Anusha Yelanji worked together to defeat Doubles #3 with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. That left us tied 3-3 against Burlingame. But Singles #2 Sophia Roser was still out there working hard to secure the tennis team a win. While the team was anxiously cheering Sophia on, we witnessed her hit amazing shots and rallies! She played with so much patience and determination, listening to Coach Jackie’s advice. As time passed by, it was down to the wire as Sophia played a tiebreaker game. In the end, she won! Her score was 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(7-3).
As a team, we were so proud! Last time we played Burlingame, we lost 3-4 but this time we came back strong winning 4-3. As the tennis season is almost coming to an end, we are so happy to be wrapping it up on a victorious win!
