Boys Tennis: Two BIG wins vs Mills and Burlingame

Wednesday- Knights beat Burlingame 5-2

The Knights completed a rare season sweep of the Panthers as they kept alive their hopes of a fourth-place finish in the PAL Bay Division and a spot in the PAL team tournament.

Marcus Cheng, playing at No. 4 singles for Hillsdale, dominated his match, winning in straight sets at love. David Bori won his No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-1 for the Knights.

Two of the matches went to three sets, with each team winning one. Hillsdale’s No. 2 doubles team of Tyler Stepps and Pascal Rhee dropped the first set 7-5 to Burlingame’s Connor Sheehy and Wesley Larlarb. But Stepps and Rhee rebounded to win the second set 6-2 and then won the match by winning a third-set, super-tiebreaker, 10-7.

Burlingame got one of its wins at No. 1 doubles, where Eric Broman and Luca Iacovone posted a 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4) win over Chaninder Rishi and Zachary Zhang.

Cale Goodman picked up the other win for the Panthers, winning his No. 2 singles match 6-4, 7-5.

PAL league record is 7-6 (tied for 4th place)

non league is 9-6
